"According to Time Out” If we were giving out awards for cool streets, the gong for funkiest newcomer would be scooped by SE1’s Bermondsey Street”
Bermondsey – with its developing scene of galleries, boutiques, bars and restaurants – is rapidly establishing itself as the cooler, younger brother to London’s more established neighbourhoods. With the City a stone’s throw away and the capital’s highlights such as Borough Market, TATE Modern and the Globe on your doorstep, you couldn’t be better located.
The Bermondsey Square Hotel is a stylish Bespoke hotel, with 8- designer bedrooms, including a series of loft rooms overlooking London’s skyline. It stands as the centre-point of a revitalised square, which also boasts an independent cinema, contemporary apartments and brand new office space all surrounding Bermondsey’s famous antiques market."
This "funky" hotel will be our first stopover - but it's not the highlight of our briefest of brief stays in London. No, that will be catching up with very dear friends currently living in Qatar who coincidentally will be in London at the same time (and recommended this bespoke hotel to us).
Can't wait! Only 3 more Mondays before we board our A360
