Roma ah Roma ! !

Buffalo mozzarella. Prosecco. Fresh al dente pasta. Salada. Exceptional service. Aaahhhh I'm in heaven!

This is a city of style. The men appear to have been chiseled from a roman template. The women are beautiful, sexy and stylish all rolled into one no matter their age. Surrounded by ancient ruins of ruling warriors and the ever powerful church, the city is alive and chaotic - cars and vespas feigning access rights with pedestrians. It's a city that doesn't appear to require sleep - the slow pace of city workers strolling the sidewalks - where there is one that's not already claimed by parked vehicles - indicates their lack of need to rush - only on foot that is. All that seems to evaporate if they're in control of a vehicle.

The it's "let's get to the crossing before the pedestrians!
We have spent the past three days strolling this city - I have photos to prove it. We stop every so often for another beer and mozzarella - just to refuel the tanks and give some respite to the feet. Not hard to do.

So I hear you asking - have I been shopping? weeeelll just a little teeny weeny bit. I know that those of you who know me well can guess what will be in the suitcase ..... Off to board the ship tomorrow.

Our favourite cafe for coffee and buffalo mozzarella

And the lovely man who remembered our favourite things
Time enough for one last Italian meal ... Until Tuscany that is !
